Mapping using Terrestrial Laser Scanning and Drones

Brayden Linaker

Utilising multiple data collection methods in the Surveying and Geospatial industries can prove to be advantageous in a multitude of applications; from developing more productive workflows to creating more holistic products. With new technology constantly being developed, integrating these technologies with existing methods is crucial to keep up with the times.

This project focused on combining two specific data collection methods and their associated datasets; Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) and aerial photogrammetry. The TLS with be performed using a traditional laser scanning system and the aerial photogrammetry employing the use of a commercially available drone.
